Fredrick Jaffe, MD
Dr. Fredrick Jaffe is the Director of the Joint Replacement Center and an Attending
Orthopaedic Surgeon at both Tisch Hospital and NYU Hospital for Joint Diseases.
He completed his postgraduate training in adult reconstructive surgery (hip and
knee replacement surgery) at the Hospital for Joint Diseases in 1974 while studying
with Dr. Mark Lazansky, Sir John Charnley's first American pupil. (Sir John Charnley
is universally recognized as the father of total hip replacement surgery.) He has
published peer review articles on joint replacement surgery and lectures both nationally
and internationally on the subject of hip and knee replacement surgery. He has also
been involved in both design and development of currently used joint replacement
implants. His area of expertise includes both primary and revision hip and knee
replacement surgery.
